The Giro d’Italia 2.UWT Stage 5 took place today, Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from Ceglie Messapica to Matera over a distance of 151 km.
Mads Pedersen of Lidl-Trek won the stage in a time of 3:27:31. It was a close finish, with Edoardo Zambanini (Bahrain Victorious) and Thomas Pidcock (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team) finishing in the same time.
Key points of the stage:
- The stage featured a relatively flat first part, leading to a more undulating finale with a categorized climb in Montescaglioso (2.9 km at 8.4%) and an uncategorized climb to the finish in Matera (5.6 km at 4.5%).
